Some of our yearly events include...
Junior Golf Tournament
The Optimist Club of Komoka-Kilworth facilitates an annual Junior Golf Tournament for the youth in our community. This event acts as a qualifier into the Southwestern Ontario District Qualifying Tournament with the best golfers then moving on to the Canadian Optimist Junior Golf National Championships. Past winners include Mike Weir, Matt Hill, Mitch Sutton, Brooke Henderson and Alena Sharpe.
The best players from Canada are then eligible to play in the Optimist International Junior Golf Championship held annually in Florida. Past winners of that event include such notable golfers as Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and Ernie Els.
Breakfast With Santa
This is a hugely popular event for families in our community. Every year in early December we hold Breakfast with Santa! Kids get to enjoy a free breakfast, make a Christmas craft and of course visit with Santa! Free photos are provided along with a small gift for each child. Adults are charged a small fee for breakfast.
Easter Egg Hunt
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is a great event for the whole family! It provides an opportunity for local residents to get out and mingle after the long winter and offers a morning of fun for the little ones as they search for eggs and meet the Easter Bunny!
Halloween
In October local residents can count on the Optimist Club to organize a Halloween event of some sort. In the past we would decorate the Community Centre, but lately we have partnered with Camp Kee-Mo-Kee to create haunted cabins! People of all ages come dressed up to experience the fun and excitement. Of course there is no charge other than a small parking fee which is directed to the camp to help with its programs.
Canada Day Celebrations
Canada Day events rotate between Delaware, Mt Brydges and Komoka but the Komoka-Kilworth Optimist are always involved in the celebrations.
Turkey Bingo
Come out for an exciting evening of Turkey Bingo! This event is always a hit!
50/50 Tickets at Komoka Kings Games
We love our local Komoka Kings! You can find us at all home games selling 50/50 tickets and operating the Concession Booth and Bar.
